Our Vision & Values

Our Vision:

First Baptist Church of Batesburg exists to demonstrate the love of Christ by celebrating the presence of God, by reaching out to our community, by caring for one another, and by growing through the Word of God.

Our Values:

PEOPLE—People matter to God. He loves people and wants to help them in their life. All people are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) and God so loved the whole world that He sent his only beloved Son, and whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

PARTNERSHIP—The work of God carried out through the church is a team effort. Every believer is gifted to serve in a particular role to share and contribute in the ministry of the church. Believers are in a collaboration where each one is equally important. For the body is not one member, but many. For we are God’s fellow workers. (1 Corinthians 12:14, 3:19)

PRAYER—God always has an open line of communication with His people to hear our thoughts, needs and hearts and to tell us His will for our lives and church. Prayer is a priority. Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

MISSIONS—The work of the church goes beyond the walls of the local church to the places where people live and work. Jesus said, “Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). He also said, believers would receive power from the Holy Spirit and then they would become His witnesses all over the world (Acts1:8).

WORSHIP—The church recognizes and honors the presence of God through corporate worship. Let them praise the name of the Lord: for His name alone is excellent; His glory is above the earth and heaven (Psalm 148:12-13).

SPIRITUAL GROWTH—The true Christian life is a continuing process of formation and growth that begins when a person places their trust in Jesus Christ and receives His Spirit into their lives. Learning and living by God’s Word nourishes this growth process.
