Want to know more about how to join our Membership?

There are a few things we need to cover here to make sure you're in agreement with what we're doing, and what we believe as part of the body of Christ. Here we go:

For starters, you need to be a Christian. What does that mean? It simply means that you have acknowledged this simple, but profound, truth: that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, given birth by a virgin woman, that he was crucified (killed on the cross), buried, then rose from the dead 3 days later to save us from our sin, and lives even now in heaven.

Also, you'll need to be baptized by immersion. What's that, you say? It's baptism completely under water. No sprinkling here. The symbolism of this type of baptism displays this message: As Christ was fully dead and buried, you are also submerged under the water, symbolizing the end (or death) of our enslavement to sin (disobedience to God).  In addition, the rising up out of the water bears the truth of our hope in the resurrection of Christ from the dead, and as such, our hope of life forever with Him after our bodies expire. We view the action of baptism with very high esteem, as Jesus himself was baptized. And He has given us clear direction to continue to carry on the practice.

There are three ways to join FBC Batesburg's membership ranks:

1 - If you're coming from another Baptist Church, you can simply transfer your membership to ours.

2 - If you're coming from another denomination, and are a believer in Christ, you can join by what we call a statement of faith.

3 - If you're a new believer, once you've been baptized in our church, we automatically claim you as a member.

What do I need to do to be baptized? Well, after you've committed yourself to the truth of Jesus Christ, we encourage you to speak with one of our pastors (you can contact them on the 'GET IN TOUCH' page). Once you discuss the details of your faith, and the need for baptism, they'll set up a date and time with you to be baptized.

What if I have questions about the church? Who should I talk to? Again, we encourage you to talk to one of our pastors. They are available most times of the day, and will be happy to spend time talking with you about your faith in Christ. Especially if you have questions.

What happens after I join the church? Well, we don't want you to rest on your laurels. That's not why Jesus came to save us. At the top of this page, you'll the the MINISTRIES button. Under that menu, you'll see a HOW CAN I HELP? tab. Click on that to find a place where you can make the most impact in our family.
